Course description:
Apparel and Textile Production II honors is a more advanced version of Apparel and Textile Production II Enterprise. In this semester long course, students begin by reviewing things they learning in Apparel 1, and then progress into creating their own, unique garment. After one quarter, the business project begins and, as a class, students create and run a small business selling items within the school community. The business portion of this course is the highlight of the class. Students design a product, create a prototype for it, complete a market test and then manufacture and sell their product.
"I loved doing the business project because we got to be really independent and do it our way. Everyone worked really hard and sometimes even had to work through lunch and stay after school. It was awesome to see how much we sold at the end."
-April Storm, 12.
"People think that this class seems complicated because of the whole process, but when you're putting it together it's easy and so rewarding."
-Katerina Strange, 11.
